Where can you get the best pizza? I swear, I’ve been to several restaurants my friends claim to have the best pizza, but seriously, if it isn’t made in Italy, I don’t think it can be called the “best”.  Not to say I’ve been to Italy and had their pizza, but still.

So this past weekend, I was invited to this new pizza shop close to Little Italy. Its parent shop lives Brooklyn and according to the peeps I was with, it had amazing pizza. After a calm debate over which pizzas to get, we settled on three: the prosciutto, black garlic, and the margherita.

Each pizza was roughly 8 inches in diameter and each was topped with various ingredients that included mushrooms, bacon, arugula, prosciutto, cheese, basil, etc.

There was a unique flavor to each of the pizzas, but one thing was for sure, the dough was burnt. After a couple slices, I was done. The scorched crust made consuming the slices less and less appetizing.

My favorite pie was the prosciutto. The pizza was covered with arugula, prosciutto, some cheese and tomato sauce. It was light and delightful. But even though it was a good pizza, I don’t think it’s the best.

I would go again to try the other pizzas, but if they burn the dough again, I don’t think I’ll make another stop.
